Five hot laptop deals at Best Buy this week (two under $500!)

Best Buy have five interesting deals in this week's circular ad that is good for the week of March 2nd through March 8, 2008. Look for it in your Sunday paper, or online at! So, let's take a look, starting with the lower price first!

And what a price it is! $450 and no rebates. Infact nothing at Best Buy has rebates which is a good thing for those who dislike rebates. This laptop is limit one per household. And it is *drumroll* the Toshiba Satellite A205-S5804. What do you get for this lovely price? A 15.4" TruBrite HD widescreen display, 1gb of ddr2 RAM, 120gb hard disk drive, dual layer dvd burner, an Intel Pentium dual core processor, and Vista Home Premium! Not bad for the price, eh? A detailed product description adn five user reviews of the A205-S5804 are posted at the Amazon product page for this model. The Amazon price is $600!

Moving along to the $500 tier, the Compaq Presario V6719NR is a Best Buy Exclusive model according to the ad. It is pwoered by the AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core processor, 1gb of memory (DDR2), 160gb hard disk drive, and dual layer dvd burner with lightscribe. Also of note, a 15.4" widescreen, nVidia GeForce Go 7105m graphics, and Vista Premium. This is limit one per household, no rainchecks, and minimum six per store. Oh my! We were not able to find any Compaq V6719NR reviews.

Jumping to $600 we find another exclusive model, the HP Pavilion dv6704nr. This has similar main specifications as the C6719nr mentioned just above, but has 2gb ddr2 memory instead. At least among the main specs - we did not compare everything else. This also has a limit of one per household.

Going up by another one hundred, we find the Dell I1526B8103 going for $700. This is limit one per household, and has an AMD Turion (not Athlon) 64 X2 DC processor, 2gb of ddr2 memory, 250gb hard disk drive, dual layer dvd burner, ATI Radeon Xpress 1270 graphics engine, and 15.4" TrueLife widescreen display. Also a built-in webcam and Vista Home Premium. Limit one Vista per household? :-)

Last but certainly not least we find the Sony Vaio VGN-AR730E for the price of $1550. This is a brand new model, and it has a 17" Xbrite-eCO widescreen display. The processor is an Intel Centrino Duo Core 2 Duo T8100 (reads like a top 40 song credit), with 3gb of ddr2 memory, 320gb hard disk drive. It becomes your portable multimedia entertainment center, not just because of the 17" display and the nVidia GeForce 8400M GT graphics, but also the BluRay disc player and the HDMI connector. It can also burn dual layer dvds, works with NextGen Wireless N, has a built-in webcam, can make coffee on demand, and has Vista Premium. A short review of this laptop from January 2008 can be found at, and Notebook check. And a more detailed product description at Amazon.
