Put on your shopping shoes and dance the Laptop Waltz

We have a couple of computer specials from Buy.com. The first one is ideal for people who dislike Vista with such a passion that they don't want it to even touch their computer. And this computer comes with Windows XP! So it is not "touched by Vista". The computer? Lenovo ThinkPad R61i offered at $580 with free shipping by Buy.com. This is no slouch laptop fans, it has lots and lots of goodies: An Intel Pentium Dual-Core T2330 1.6GHz processor, a 15.4" widescreen display, 1GB memory (maximum 4gb), 80GB hard disk, super multi format dvd burner, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, one year warranty, and Windows XP Professional. Be sure to check the product page mentioned above or the picture link below for more details. As you can see from the price, and considering that it is a Lenovo, that's not a bad deal!

Refurbish me please
The next laptop is a recertified model. Some call them refubrished, reconditioned, used, you pick the word. Buy.com calls them recertified. The price? $700 but with free shipping and handling. The laptop? The Toshiba Satellite P205-S7402. This is a second tier laptop as it features a 17" widescreen, 2gb memory, 160gb hard disk, - Core 2 Duo T5250 1.5GHz processor, Wifi, Vista Premium, and such. Weight is 7.2 pounds.

Please note that this laptop has a special restricted returns policy on this laptop, so be sure to read it before purchasing!

One thing of note in the above recertified laptop is that its supermultiformat dvd burner can also play the now historic HD-DVD high definition format, which lost out to BluRay in the high def wars of the 00s. Of course this does not affect a computer the way it affects a dvd player since it doesn't "break" anything just by being there. And because of its upcoming obselence it may create some laptop bargains as we posted earlier in this blog.

But ultimately the decision and the weighing of the trade-offs are all yours to make :)

Refurbish me again!
We have another refurbished laptop, this time from HP, the Pavilion dv9727cl, which offers a 17" widescreen display of the Brightview variety. It is powered by a 2.0 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-60 processor. It has 2gb memory, a 250GB hard drive, and Super 8X DVD±R/RW dvd burner, making the elephant obsolete as a storage option ;-) You also get the usual assortment of features such as built-in webcam, wireless LAN, and Vista Home Premium. Please note this is a Factory Recertified notebook! Oh the price? It is $700 with free shipping!

Accessorize!
And we leave you with a couple of accessories ideas, first up for Sony fans, the Sony VGP-AMB9 VAIO Sport Messenger Bag is offered for just $15 and free budget shipping. This is a black, top-loading nylon bag.

If you don't object to rebates, then you can get the Dane-Elec 4GB Secure Digital High Capacity SDHC Card for just $12, after you submit and receive and cash a $19 mail-in rebate. As with all rebates, be sure to make copies and follow the instructions!
