Three hot laptop clearance deals at Staples (March 30 to April 5)

Look inside your paper or go to the Staples website to check these out for more details. Here is the summary: Staples is having a clearance blowout on various items, and three notebook computers are included in this extravaganza! Let's jump right in, no more words!

First up, at $430 after a $30 easy rebate, we find the Compaq Presario F750us. This packs a punch for such a low price, as you get an AMD Athlon TK-57 dual core processor, 1gb of RAM, 120gb hard disk drive, wireless, super multi format dvd drive, Vista premium, and the usual features of this price point (ethernet, modem, USB, etc). But you don't get the fancy features: No ExpressCard, no webcam, no memory card reader. Now, not many people find those three features a must, or they can easily find a workaround by attaching a device like that to the USB port. So it's your money, your choice :)

Next up we have two Dells at $600 each, and for rebate-haters we have good news: NO REBATES :)

First up, with a 14.1" widescreen display we find the Inspiron 1420, available in blue, black or red. This laptop uses a Centrino Core 2 Duo T5250 processor, 2gb of memory, 160gb hard disk drive, supermultiformat dvd burner, wireless, Vista and built-in webcam. This makes an interesting contrast with the F570us mentioned above, as it has more memory and a webcam, but a smaller screen. Trade-offs, trade-offs!

A better match-up is the Dell Inspiron 1525, also at $600 without rebates, with a 15.4" widescreen display, the Pentium (not Centrino) T2330 dual core processor, 1gb of memory, 160gb hard disk drive, supermulti dvd burner, wireless, built-in webcam, Vista and such. Available in black in-store, or pink if you use the in-store kiosks.

Accessorize your life!
A number of accessories are advertised as well, so let's jump right in! You get 25% off all Samsonite and American Tourister computer bags after Easy Rebate. Check store or website for details and selection. And be sure to compare prices because 25% off full list price may still be higher than other stores! As I always say, 25% of too much may still be too much :)

Acer monitors are on sale as well, with the 19" P191Wd on sale for $180. This is a 19" widescreen Acer monitor with 1440x900 resolution, and 5ms response time. Next up aqt $250 you get the P22Wd, which is a 22" iwdescreen, and the P241Wad which is a 24" widescreen for $380.

o/~ Memories o/~ Oops, forgive our singing, but PNY deskop memory is also on sale. The PNY 2gb DDRII PC5300 goes for $60, while the 1gb PC3200 for $65. Prices are actually the same for 1gb PC2700 DDR laptop memory ($65) and 2gb PC5300 notebook ($60).

More accessories! The Microsoft 3000 wireless optical mouse goes for $20 while the Logitech V450 wireless laser goes for $30. Laser vs optical? We blog, you decide!

Furthermore, the Antec external notebook cooler is now down to $20. As the weather is starting to heat up these may be a good idea, especially if you use your laptop frequently, or you have a laptop that tends to overheat. You can power these via USB, and if you have other USB devices there, you can even "steal" power from them, instead of your laptop :)

MSFT is also offering their digital media pro giant and ugly keyboard for $20. Will it blue screen? Probably not, since it does not have a screen :)
