The wait is over, the Lenovo X300 Thinkpad is here!

Regular readers of this blog may have already read our post covering the launch of the Lenovo X300, and the inevitable comparisons by the gadget and high-tech blogs between it and the MacBook Air. We also talked about a recent X300 review.

Now the good people of Tigerdirect have informed us that the X300 is available and shipping at their website for $2800. They have 27 product pictures, so you can get a really close look, without actually leaving your desk :)

The configuration mentioned above by Tiger includes the Intel Core 2 Duo SL7100 1.2GHz processor, 2GB DDR2 memory, 64GB SSD storage, dvd burner (7mm thin!), and of course a nice 13.3" WXGA LED widescreen display. You also get your usual assortment of features, including Bluetooth, 802.11a/g/n Wireless, N being the Next generation of wireless, built-in fingerprint Reader and webcam. And "fans" of Vista will rejoice, this comes with Windows XP Professional!

The 3-cell battery can last up to 4.3 hours, although as with all battery estimates, your mileage may (and probably will) vary.
