A quartet of laptops at Fry's

Fry's Electronics has a quarter of laptops in their Sunday paper ads, three of which are WinDoze, and one of them a fingerpainting computer ;-)

We start with the lowest price, at $450, where we find the Toshiba Satellite A215-S5829, which featurs an AMD Athlon 64 X2 DC TK-57 processor, 1gb of ddr2 memory, 160gb had disk drive, 15.4" widescreen display, dvd burner, wireless and the usual assortment of features, Vista Premium included. No rebates, but no rainchecks, and one per customer, and while supplies last. Keep that wig and moustache in the car if you need more than one ;-)

Next up at $700, we find the HP dv2810us, after a $50 mail-in rebate. This is for the more mobile users as it has a 14.1" widescreen display, but it's no slouch as it is powered by the AMD Turion 64 X2 DC TL-60 processor, and has 3gb of ddr2 RAM, 250gb hard disk, dvd burner avec lightscribe, wireless, Vista Premium BlueScreen, and such. Limit one per customer!

Next up at $750 after a $50 MIR, we find the HP dv9810us, a laptop ideally suited for fans of 17" widescreen displays, because, well, it has one :) You also get the AMD Turion TL-60 processor, 3gb ddr2 memory, 160gb disk, dvd burner with lightscripbe, wireless, Vista Premium, and all the other assorted features you'd expect at this price point!

Last but not least, a laptop ideal for those interested in fingerpainting. Yes, it's an Apple :) Just kidding Apple fans :) It is the Apple MacBook, for $1300, with a 2.4ghz intel processor, 2gb memory, 160gb hard disk, dvd burner (yes, they call it Superdrive), and a 13.3" glossy widescreen display.

Also at Fry'[s, a 22" widescreen monitor, of unknown brand is advertised for $190 after a $40 mail in rebate. Not a bad price if you are looking for a utility, extra or backup monitor. There's also a 19" for $140 after a $30 MIR. Also unknown brand.

You can check for these and other specials at Fry's. These prices are good until Tuesday April 15, 2008, yes TaxDay. They do change after Tuesday. Not sure where they go from there though :)
