Hot laptops deals for Father's Day at Staples

The parade of laptop temptations begins with the Compaq Presario F761us at just $450 after an $30 Easy Rebate. This is a great price considering the specs of this laptop: An AMD Athlon 64 X2 DC TK-57 processor, 1gb memory, 160gb hard disk, super multi format dvd burner with lightscribe, and 15.4" widescreen display. But that's not all, you also get a built-in memory card reader (5-in-1), wireless (b/g), and Vista SP1 (Service Pack One).

And now to Dell, the Inspiron 1420 is geared towards mobile users with its 14.1" widescreen display. That is nice because the price is $700 and no rebates! Dell does not like rebates, and people who do not like rebates, like Dell for that :) This is a powerful laptop with 3gb memory, 250gb hard disk, and super multi format dvd burner. The processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo T5550, and you also get wireless, built-in webcam, your choice of colors (black, blue, red, pink) and Vista Premium.

And a little something-something for fans of big screen laptops! Get ready, set go! The HP Pavilion dv9810us can be yours for $750 after a $50 Easy Rebate. But there's more, you also receive a $50 Staples Gift Card by mail, dropping your effective price after rebate and gift card to $700. Not bad at all! Now what kind of pig are you getting in this poke?

Well there's no lipstick needed, this is a power-pig :) An AMD Turion 64 X2 DC TL-60 processor, 3gb of memory, 160gb hard disk, super multi format dvd burner, built-in webcam, and Vista SP1. And as we mentioned earlier, a 17" widescreen display, ideal for multimedia users. This is while supplies last so don't sleep on it!

Computer Accessories
You can never have too many extra monitors if you live in a multi-laptop/multi-computer household or office. And a 22" Envision widescreen LCD can be yours for just $200!

But if you prefer brand names, the Samsung 2032NW can be yours for $220 after a $30 Easy Rebate. This is a 20" widescreen LCD with resolution up to 1680x1050. Nice eh?

Madonna sings about the music and the people, and the 4gb Philips video mp3 player can deliver both for just $60 and no rebates!

Memories! 1gb of PNY DDR PC3200 desktop memory goes for $60. Good? Bad? Indifferent? For those who need flash drives, a 4gb Sandisk Cruzer is $25, an 8gb is $40 ($5 per gigabyte), and a 2gb is $18. Clearly the more you buy, the more you save per gigabyte.

More storage! A 320gb Western Digital My Passport portasble hard disk drive goes for $140, but if you want to spend less, you can get a 160gb version for $90. As you can see, the higher the capacity the bigger the savings per gigabyte, but if you need the lowest price possible, then the 160gb version is not that bad.

The computers are heating up too in the summer, and now it's a good time to get a Targus (or other brand) notebook fan/cooler/chiller. The Targus one is on sale for $15. You can also use these on your cable box or DVR, if you have one of those that heat up and start mis-behaving.

If your computer is mis-behaving and you are worried that it might be security related, the Staples circular ad talks of a free PC Security check in-store by their EasyTech geek squad. The free check includes system and risk analysis, virus and spyware checks, and a hard drive integrity check. Check local store or website for more details.
