Laptop deals at Circuit City for Father's Day!

Father's Day is just around the corner, and the Circuit Geeks have loaded up the temptations plate, also known as the weekly circular ad. So, let us take a look at what they have!

Featured on the back-page of the circular is the HP dv2810us going for $700 after a $50 MIR (mail-in rebate). This is a mobile versatile laptop thanks to its 14.1" widescreen display. The processor is no slouch, it's an AMD Turion 64 X2 DC TL-60, with 3gb memory, 250gb hard disk, dvd burner with ligthscribe, webcam, bluetooth, and Vista SP1.

But the lowest price belongs to the Toshiba A205-S5831, which goes for $480 after a $120 mail-in rebate. This is a closeout with no rainchecks, but if you can find it, then it's a nice deal we think. The processor is an Intel Pentium dual core T2370, and it has a 15.4" widescreen display, 1gb of memory, 160gb hard disk, dvd burner, wireless (b/g), and Vista SP1.

Gateway has your ...gateway to laptop fun with the Gateway M1624 model, which goes for $600 and that is without rebates. This is your typical loaded laptop at this price range with a 15.4" widescreen display, AMD Turion TL-60 processor, 2gb memory, 250gb hard disk, dvd burner with labelflash, wireless and Vista SP1.

Similar specs but the magic of Sony? Then how about the Sony Vaio VGN-NR-360-ES going for $680 and of course no rebates since Sony dislikes rebates as they tend to "cheapen" their perceived brand prestige - or something like that. The processor is an Intel Pentium dual core T2370, with 2gb memory, 250gb hard disk, 15.4" widescreen display, dvd burner, wireless and Vista SP1.

Moving on up in price, at $750 after a $50 MIR, we find the HP Pavilion dv6833us, an exclusive Circuit City model. This has a 15.4" widescreen display, Centrino dual core processor, 3gb memory, 250gb hard disk, dvd burner with ligthscribe, wireless including wireless-N, webcam, and Vista SP1.

The next notebook is also from HP, the Pavilion dv6871us going for $880 after a $50 MIR. This laptop has a 15.4" widescreen display, 3gb memory, 320gb hard disk, NVidia GeForce 8400M GS with 256MB dedicated video memory, wireless (a/b/g/N), dvd burner, webcam, and Vista SP1 of course. The processor? A Centrino!

Next we have a 17" widescreen laptop, the Toshiba Satellite P305-S8825 for $950 without rebates. This has a trendy Fusion finish, but the finish doesn't help with the processing. What helps with the processing is a Centrino processor, ATI HD3400 GS dedicated video memory (256MB), 3gb memory, 320gb hard disk, wireless (a/b/g/N), dvd burner, webcam, and Vista SP1.

Last but certainly not least is the Toshiba Satellite U405-S2833 going for $1050. Why the price? For one thing, a 13.3" TruBrite widescreen and a 9-cell LiIon battery. This means a smaller more mobile laptop with longer battery life, great if you are not always near a socket or carry around AC adapters. This model by the way is a Circuit City exclusive model, or so the ad claims. Other specs include a Centrino processor, 3gb memory, 250gb hard disk, dvd burner with labelflash, fingerprint reader, wireless (a/b/g/N), and Vista SP1.

Computer Accessories
External monitors can be handy when you are docked, such as the 19" LG widescreen LCD model W1952TOTF going for just $200. This is LG brand, not a generic brand. If you prefer a 22" model, the W2252TQTF goes for $270.

Meanwhile, the Logitech LX5 cordless optical mouse includes side-to-side scrolling and battery indicator light is going for just $10 but only after two $10 mail-in rebates. Good for rebate experts. If you are not a rebate expert, spare yourself the frustrations :)

If you are a sucker for Kenneth Cole Reaction, their 17" portfolio laptop case goes for $40 without rebates.

Sandisk USB memory sticks are on sale as well, going for $10 for 1gb, $17 for 2gb, $25 for 4gb, and $40 for 8gb.

Western Digital's MyPassport Essential 2.5" portable USB2.0 hard disks start at $80 with the WDME1600TN, and $100 for WDME2500TN. If portability mattters...

Maxtor has a six-pack of external hard disks, with the one terrabyte model going for $230. These and a lot more at Circuit City!
