Compaq Presario F761us for $400 AR at Staples!

Bargain hunting laptop fans you should line-up at Staples on Sunday morning! The Compaq Presario F761us is on sale for $400 after a $30 Easy Rebate. That's right, four hundred dollars after rebate, not a typo! Why is this a big deal? Because this laptop packs a punch for the price, and lets you do just about anything in terms of every-day life and tasks. Here is the summary of the Presario F761 specs:

  • AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core mobile TK-57 processor
  • 1gb memory
  • 160gb hard disk
  • 15.4" widescreen display
  • supermulti format dvd burner with lightscribe
  • wireless LAN (b/g)
  • five in one memory card reader

As you can expect, this is a "while supplies last" and supplies will not last long!!!

Dell Studio 1535 and 1735 make their Staples debut
If you are not a bargain hunter, but rather would have the latest and greatest, Staples offers both choices it seems. The Dell 1535 and 1735 Studio notebooks make their debut at $700 and $850 respectively. And no rebates, which is a boon for those who hate rebates with a passion.

The Dell Studio 1535 features an Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 processor, 3gb memory, 250gb hard disk, super multi format dvd burner, 15.4" widescreen display, wireless and web-cam, and Vista SP1. It is available in multiple colors, including red, purple, orange, black, blue, and pink!

The Dell Studio 1735 features a 17" widescreen display, which is part of the reason why you see the price bump. Ideal for people who like bigger laptops and enjoy multimedia on bigger screens. On top of that, it has 4gb of memory instead of three, and a fingerprint reader too.

Oh these ones look adorable! And if you needed any extra incentive, Staples is offering no interest, no payments for six months if you pay with your Staples credit card and the amount is $200 or more. Do read the terms and conditions as always.

Other high tech items of interest
If you need blank DVDs, either DVD-R or DVD+R, and you like Sony, whether it's Made in Taiwan or Made in Malaysia blank DVDs, they are on sale at Staples for $23 for the 100-pack, which puts them at 23c per blank dvd. Almost cheaper than a piece of toilet paper ;-) The 50-packs are a bit more expensive as they come out to 26 cents per blank, or $13 per spindle.

If you love bags, then you'll love Staples this week, as they have all sorts of bags, laptop bags, messenger bags, backpacks, and such on sale. Brands include Timberland, Jansport and Dickies. Prices vary from $4 to $70.

Storage on the go is a laptop's best friend, and new discounts have arrived for the Sandisk Cruzer usb flash sticks. The 4gb one is down to $20, putting it squarely at $5 per gigabyte. The 2gb one is $12, which is a great brick and mortar price for a Sandisk model. And the 8gb Sandisk model is down to $35! Viva discounts!

A couple of Dell LCD displays are on sale and on display, first up a 19" widescreen LCD for $220 which has a 1440x900 resolution, adjustable base, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and built-in USB ports. If you prefer a bigger one, the 24" Dell goes for $390.
